The challenges get crazier and crazier every season! This time the contestants had to design an outfit out of Los Angeles Times newspapers! How do you even sew that!?!?!
Well as you can guess, the designers were not thrilled about this use of material and it showed in a lot of their outfits! Don't get me wrong, there were a few good ones like Christopher's (my favorite), Althea, and Carol Hannah. The worse was Johnny's! His origami inspired red dress even made Tim cringe. It looked like origami "birds attacked" his dress! He quickly scrapped the dress, literally crumpling it up in front of Tim and the other designers right after the bad comments. Yet, he proceeded to tell this lie about a mysterious steamer incident!
The judges, Heidi, Zoe Glassner, Tommy Hilfiger, and Eva Longoria-Parker all agreed Johnny's dress was the worse. Heidi even mentioned that his model looked like she was on her way to "work," you know the "work" some women do on the corners of shady streets! Johnny was kicked off and Irina won the challenge and immunity with her trench coat.
P.S. I have two favorite lines from this episode 1. "Tommy doesn't iron honey!" - Eva Longoria-Parker 2. "I'm incredulous at that utterly preposterous spewing of fiction that Johnny did on the Runway! It was ridiculous!" - Tim Gunn (Try saying that sentence without looking!)
