I'm not sure what I thought of the new Melrose Place. I wasn't a big fan of the original, but I thought I would give this one a chance. I think I will have to go one or two more episodes before I make up my mind (at which point I will probably be too sucked in to let it go).
The pilot episode gave us a clear character set up for all the inhabitants of Melrose Place. Not the most creative personas, but I'm sure they were just following the recipe for addictive teen television.
Sydney a.k.a. The Psycho Bitch that, even after death, ruins lives with her conniving ways. Although she gets killed in the first episode I don't think this will be the last we see of her. She is the central part of the plot for this first season and apparently was the mastermind of everything bad in and surrounding Melrose Place.
David a.k.a. P**sy Whipped Pretty Boy. His good looks have gotten him good and bad things. Hot chicks in clubs to make out with and crazy ex-girlfriends who know how to wrap him around their little finger. He does have a dark secret though! His cash actually doesn't come from daddy, but his love for art theft.
Riley and Jonah a.k.a. The Perfect Couple. Sure they seem happy on the outside and are the thorn in the heart of all their lonely single friends hearts. But, this obviously can't last forever! Riley had some trouble saying yes to his marriage proposal and Jonah is on the road to stardom with his hot blonde of an agent.
Ella a.k.a. The Drama Queen. She's also the bitch for when the plot doesn't include the dead bitch. She knows how to get what she wants and isn't afraid to manipulate her way to the top. Her little secret: She's a lesbian, but I'm guessing it's more of a Bi thing with the way she looks at her "client" Jonah (remember....the guy who just got engaged!)
Violet a.k.a. The New Girl. She's a new tenant at Melrose Place and she plays off as the good girl, but I couldn't giver her that title since I'm sensing a bit of a wild side that just hasn't completely come out yet.
Lauren a.k.a. The Good Girl, Gone Bad. She's sweet, smart, pretty and a doctor! Just the perfect little girl. Until, after lots of thought and a run-in with The New Girl, she runs out of money and has sex with a guy she just meets for $5,000!
Auggie a.k.a. The Mysterious Hottie. We didn't learn too much about him this episode other than he is the KILLER!
